SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)

More than two million students take the SAT© each year. The SAT tests the subject matter learned by students in high school and how well they apply that knowledge with the critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in college. In March 2014, the College Board announced that the SAT will be redesigned to focus on “the few things that evidence show matter most for college and career readiness.” The revised version of the SAT will be given starting in spring 2016. Additional information is available at the College Board and the SAT website.

The College Board provided annual statistics for students who took the SAT at least once in the past year, and only the most recent results are used for students who test multiple times. Historical comparisons of YCSD student performance as compared to state and national student averages is provided below.
