Transfer Provisions

Students transferring in grades kindergarten through 8 from Virginia public schools or nonpublic schools accredited by one of the approved accrediting constituent members of the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE) shall be given recognition for all grade-level work completed. The academic record of students transferring from all other schools shall be evaluated to determine appropriate grade placement in accordance with policies adopted by the local school board. AP and PSAT Assessment Availability

Advanced Placement (AP), Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and PreACT examinations are available to students receiving home instruction pursuant to Va. Code § 22.1-254.1. Specific test dates are set by College Board and are available on the College Board website. A fee is assessed for this testing and is due to your zoned high school. Financial assistance for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) and AP tests is available to low-income and needy students. Please contact your zoned school for more information or to register for testing.
