Title: SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE INTERN

Primary Function:
The York County School Division Intern program is open to eligible high school and college students interested in contributing to the success of our schools gaining valuable experience. These internships provide a unique opportunity for high school and college students, as well as recent graduates, to gain hands-on experience in various departments within the School Board Office. Interns will perform a variety of functions under the supervision of staff to support the division’s mission of ensuring every student is valued, supported, and challenged through learning experiences, which prepare them for a successful future.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma and an interest in related field
- Associates Degree (or equivalent completed course hours) or bachelor’s degree in related fields
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects at once
- Ability to adapt to changing priority and tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- A strong commitment to educational excellence and community service.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties including but not limited to document preparation, filing, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with staff on various projects tailored to support the strategic goals of the division.
- Complete assigned projects by a predetermined deadline
- Engage in tasks specific to the assigned department, which will vary according to current needs and the intern’s area of focus.
- Collaborate with various departments within the division.

Terms of Employment:
Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policies and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
