Title: TEACHER - VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL

Primary Function:
Responsible for the planning and delivery of instruction designed for student learning in an on-line environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a teaching endorsement at the high school level, or the equivalent of on-line teaching experience with accredited institutions of learning in the respective field of teaching assignment and some teaching experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which would provide the acceptable knowledge, abilities and skills, as evidenced in the following performance responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of effective communications practices, practiced by effectively communicating with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community. Demonstrates positive school-community relations.

Considerable skill in using the computer, Internet and multi-media applications.

Ability to prepare required written reports including clear and concise reporting in an e-mail format.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Plans and prepares for on-line instruction.

Uses a variety of instructional strategies to meet varied student needs in an on-line environment.

Encourages the productive citizenship and respectful conduct of students in online communications.

Monitors and assesses student progress and communicates progress regularly to parents, students and supervisors.

Maintains accurate, complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Engages in professional growth activities, demonstrates professionalism and attends all required training sessions for on-line teachers.

Performs all on-line instruction and attends on-site meetings with administration, parents and students as requested.

Other duties as assigned.

Principal - Director of School Administration
Terms of Employment:
Contracted for specific job assignments according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on the evaluation of licensed personnel.
