Title: TEACHER/FACILITATOR

Primary Function:
Perform teaching duties for Networking/Computer courses at the secondary level. Develop curriculum for computer courses including those at the alternative school. Provide coordination for courses including hardware and software needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree.

Holds a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement at the appropriate instructional level.

Demonstrate professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with all students, parents, school personnel, and other members of the community.

Possesses the ability to travel to more than one work location in the course of the day if assigned to an itinerant position.

Possesses ability to monitor and ensure appropriate student behavior.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare classroom instruction

Provide a positive classroom environment that promotes student learning

Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet varied student needs

Comply with state laws, school board policies, and administrative regulations

Communicate clearly directions, procedures, assessment criteria and standards both orally and in writing

Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed for an orderly, productive classroom and school

Encourage productive citizenship

Monitor and assess student progress in order to make instructional decisions

Identify resources and personnel to meet the needs of individual students

Inform students and parents regarding student progress, the instructional program, and other school issues

Demonstrate positive school-community relations

Work cooperatively with colleagues, support staff, and the administration

Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy

Select appropriate instructional goals

Maintain accurate, complete records and reports as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation

Arrange for workshops, speakers, performances, and related field experiences

Develop and review all necessary reports and documents

Maintain accurate student and program records

Assume responsibility for inventory of books and teaching materials

Perform assorted administrative functions as necessary

Perform other related duties as assigned by School Administrator and/or Curriculum Assistant (vocational)
Reports to:
Building Administrator, Curriculum Assistant (vocational)
Terms of Employment:
12 months per year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with School Board Policy and administrative regulations regarding the evaluation of licensed personnel.
