Community

The York County School Division encourages members of the community to get involved in the school system through volunteer, business partner and foundation programs, and to take advantage of adult learning opportunities.

Each school has a robust volunteer program, and community members who would like to volunteer are encouraged to contact our schools. Non-parent volunteers must agree to a background check prior to volunteering in a school. Business partners provide schools with resources and assistance and play a vital role many school activities and initiatives.

Additionally, the York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. is another great way for the York County community to support our schools. The foundation is a non-profit agency that provides schools and teachers with funds for programs that otherwise would not be possible. The foundation also awards scholarships to division seniors.

The school division also sponsors several adult education programs, including GED® preparation and testing, English for speakers of other languages.
