Mobile App Upgrade: Stay Connected Your WayYCSD's mobile app has been upgraded! New updates make staying informed and connected easier than ever. Families can now create password-protected accounts, follow the schools for news, information and calendars, in one place. Additionally, a new chat feature replaces the Remind two-way messaging platform, allowing families and students to message teachers, coaches, and staff directly in the app. Resources on how to use the YCSD app, set up your account, and use the new chat feature is available on the division website. Download the latest version today to take advantage of these features and keep your school connections at your fingertips. School Safety ProtocolsYCSD has adopted the I Love U Guys Foundation Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for emergency situations. While many of our action steps will be familiar to staff, students and families, this protocol replaced terms like "modified lockdown" with clear, consistent language whether responding to severe weather, a fire or gas leak, or criminal activity on or near a school campus. Students will learn more about the protocols during the first week of school to help them become familiar with the terms and steps to take in an emergency. Schools will also practice the protocols in recurring safety drills. To learn more about the Standard Response Protocol, we encourage you to review the information linked below.
Student Handbook and Code of CivilityEach year, the division updates the YCSD Student Handbook and Conduct Code. The division's Code of Civility is being introduced in this year’s handbook to support the division's core values of safety and integrity. The Code outlines clear expectations for the conduct of students, staff, families, and community members to ensure safe, supportive, and respectful learning environments. The handbook serves as a helpful resource for navigating the school year and includes information about school system practices, policies, and services designed to support and enrich learning. We ask all students and families to review the handbook online at the start of the school year. If you need a print version, please contact the school’s main office. Voluntary Student Accident InsuranceYork County School Division is once again partnering with K&K insurance to offer Voluntary Student Accident Insurance. Student accident insurance can reimburse you for your child's eligible medical expenses due to accidents occurring at home or at school. Interested families will pay a one-time payment for the coverage option of their choice. |
