YCSD Virtual Learning Day - January 21, 2022

Posted On: Thursday, January 20, 2022

Friday, January 21, will be a virtual learning day for all York County School Division students, including preschool, due to the forecast for winter weather tonight and tomorrow. This means our buildings and offices will be closed, but staff and students will still be teaching and learning.

Student Information

As this is our first weather-related shift to virtual learning, we want to remind families that all students will be expected to log in, as they have previously practiced with their teachers, at the beginning of the school day. Instructions for logging into Teams meetings, based on your child’s device, can also be found on the division website. Students and families will receive additional information regarding student schedules and expectations from their school and/or teacher(s).

Staff Information

Essential staff will report to work on-site as directed by their supervisors. To support the virtual learning day for staff and students, all other staff will work remotely as directed by their supervisors. Buildings are closed for in-person learning and work.

Finally, all activities, including athletic events are canceled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

While the forecasts continue to change slightly as to the timing and amount of snowfall, we are making this decision now to give our families and staff enough notice to prepare and to ensure students and staff are not traveling to and from school in potentially hazardous conditions.
