2020-21 Calendar Reminders

In August, the division adjusted the school calendar to include Tuesday, November 3, as a regular school day. As November 3 is also Election Day, the division will enact a one-hour delay for the Hybrid Model to reduce the possibility of traffic and congestion near polling locations during the early morning hours. Student drop-off and bus routes will run one hour later than normal and Hybrid Model students learning from home on Tuesdays should login for their morning meetings one hour later than normal.

The Virtual Academy and all grade levels/programs still in the Remote Learning Model will operate on time. All staff are expected to report on time, unless arrangements are made with their supervisor. PreK families will receive a separate communication regarding their schedule for November 3.

At this time, the division continues to monitor Health Metrics and Operational Integrity for the tentative, target dates for returning grades 4 & 5 to a Hybrid schedule on Thursday, November 5 and grades 6 & 9 to a Hybrid schedule on Monday, November 9.

Family and Staff Feedback

YCSD teachers, administrators and support staff are working hard to provide every student a high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment in a school year unlike any other. As we approach the end of the first nine weeks, YCSD is seeking family and staff feedback regarding the learning experience to date in the 2020-21 school year.

A family survey focusing on technology, teaching & learning, family support & engagement, and decision-making is available now through Sunday, November 1. Staff will receive a link to a separate TeamYCSD survey by email later this week.

Parent, student, and staff experiences are important to us and the division will continue to seek feedback periodically to help refine and improve our practices.

Citrix/Go Portal Status

The division’s IT department is monitoring a security issue regarding access to the division’s network. YCSD staff are working closely with Microsoft to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. As part of this coordinated response, the division has taken the temporary measure of turning off Citrix/Go Portal access from outside the division until further notice.

Students and staff are still able to access Canvas, Office 365 and Teams from their personal and division-issued devices without logging in through the Citrix/Go Portal. If a student or staff member needs access to personal files or folders stored on the division network, they can contact the YCSD IT Help Desk for assistance.

Rycor Online Forms Reminder

The division has transitioned many of the required annual forms to an online format in Rycor, the division’s form and payment management system. Please take a moment to log into your parent account, or create your account, to ensure you have completed the required forms listed below.

  • Student Handbook and Code of Conduct
  • Technology AUP
  • 1:1 Handbook Acknowledgement
