YCSD Make-Up Day Announcement

The York County School Division has adjusted the 2018-19 school calendar to include Monday, November 12, 2018 as a make-up day for all students. All schools will operate on their normal schedule that day.

As this is typically an observed federal holiday, the division sought feedback from parents and staff prior to announcing the make-up day. An online survey received nearly 5,400 responses, with more than 72% of those respondents preferring November 12 to the other two possible make-days in the first semester.

This is the second adjustment to the calendar due to the combined five days of missed instructional time due to hurricanes Florence and Michael. The division announced in September that Wednesday, December 19 will be a full instructional day rather than an early release day.

An updated calendar, along with answers to some of the frequently asked questions from the online survey, are now available on the division website.
