Each school will establish specific processes and dates for collecting student devices and will share that information directly with families. Additionally, two central locations and dates have also been established for Virtual Academy students and families who will need the device through the end of the school year and/or summer instructional programs. |

As the division’s graduation plans were developed prior to this announcement, we reconvened the committee of students, parents, staff, and school and division administrators to reevaluate the criteria used to select our commencement venue. |

Families are encouraged to complete an online pre-registration form as soon as possible to streamline the full registration process. To assist families with pre-registration, the division’s community engagement bus will be at various locations in May and June. Families can visit any location to receive help completing required forms, have questions answered, and received additional information and materials from the school division and community partners. |
YCSDigest - April 26, 2021Posted on: Monday, April 26, 2021Governor Northam has amended the executive order limiting attendance at outdoor graduation ceremonies. Therefore, we are pleased to share that graduates will now receive eight (8) tickets for the commencement ceremonies in June. Spectators will still need to adhere to all mitigation strategies and state requirements in place the day of the ceremonies. |
YCSDigest - April 16, 2021Posted on: Friday, April 16, 2021Graduation ceremonies represent both the finish line of a student’s K-12 academic career and the start of their future. After more than a year of navigating the course of COVID-19, it seems fitting that the BHS, GHS, THS and YHS Classes of 2021 will celebrate graduation at the Start/Finish line of the Langley Speedway on June 14 and 15, and will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, such as thunder and lightning, June 16 and June 17 will serve as the alternate dates (detailed schedule provided below). The York River Academy ceremony will take place at Yorktown Middle School at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16. |

YCSDigest - March 17, 2021Posted on: Wednesday, March 17, 2021The York County School Division is finalizing plans to move beyond the current Hybrid Model to a more traditional school schedule. In the Expanded Hybrid Model, eligible students enrolled in the Flexible Framework will attend school, in-person, four days a week. Students enrolled in the YCSD Virtual Academy will remain virtual and will continue to follow their existing schedules. |
