Ensuring the safety of students, staff, and guests is a top priority for the York County School Division. To support this priority, the division has adopted additional safety procedures, including a clear bag requirement for all spectators attending any event at Bailey Field (stadium located at York High) and "The Pit" (stadium located at Bruton High).
Each spectator will be allowed to bring in the following:
Exceptions will be made for credentialed media and those with necessary medical items after proper inspection at designated areas.
Items such as banners, blankets, seat cushions and wagons are also subject to inspection.

Please note: There is no check-in location for prohibited bags
Why did YCSD adopt this requirement?
The division's safety and security procedures are reviewed and updated periodically to promote the safety and security of students, families, staff and visitors.
Why does the requirement only apply to the stadiums?
The clear bag requirement is being implemented initially at the two stadiums as these venues have the largest crowds. The requirements may be extended to other events in the future.
What happens if I show up at a venue with a bag that is not permitted?
Spectators carrying bags that do not meet the requirements listed above will be asked to return the bag to their vehicle. Bags should not be left unattended at any YCSD venue.
Do I have to put everything I'm carrying into the permissible bags?
No. We are limiting only the type of bags carried into the stadiums, not items that you normally bring to a game. You can carry keys, wallets, phones, etc. in pockets - though if metal detectors are in use, please be prepared to remove these items.
Does this apply to athletes or event participants?
These procedures only apply to spectators, not students and staff participating in the event.
What about items needed for babies and small children?
A baby carrier, detachable infant car seat or stroller is permitted in the venue if it is accompanying an infant/small child and there's no attached bag. Other items needed for a baby or small child may be carried in a clear bag.
