Title: MAINTENANCE PARTS COORDINATOR - ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL

Primary Function:
Operate a parts storage area for the maintenance department. Order and issue supplies for building maintenance. Keep inventory of these parts and do related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience ordering electrical, plumbing, and HVAC supplies and building materials.

Extensive knowledge of nomenclature of building maintenance parts and electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building supplies.

Knowledge of storeroom and stocking methods and procedures as applied to building materials.

Organizational ability sufficient to keep a systematic inventory record up to date for accounting and reordering purposes.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers.

Must have oral and written communication skills required to perform all performance responsibilities.

Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift 40 pounds of parts orders.

Computer experience required.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Order electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building materials as needed.

Keep an inventory of ordered parts and parts on hand, and make sure all parts are properly charged.

Responsible for cleanliness of assigned area.

Use computers for inventory purposes.

Work closely with maintenance personnel and maintenance managers to insure correct parts ordering and stocking.

Assist in developing sources of supply in cooperation with buyers. Assist in reviewing and evaluating vendor bids for parts, supplies and specialized repair or contract work and make recommendations based on evaluation.

Inspect parts and materials purchased for quality control and conformity to specifications.

Review invoices and approve for payment.

Estimate stock and inventory needs based on usage history.

Locate special parts needed immediately within or outside of the local area.

Maintain large number of parts catalogs and cross-reference catalogs to ascertain those parts, which are interchangeable from one manufacturer to another.

Be familiar with software pertinent to parts usage and parts obsolescence.

Perform related work as assigned.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Can climb a ladder and lift up to 60 pounds from the ground and 35 pounds above the head.
- Can stand for extended periods of time
- Can understand and follow written and verbal instruction
- Exhibits the manual dexterity and mental alertness needed to operate tool and/or other equipment
In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency situations, the School Division may suspend normal operations and/or cancel classes. If this occurs, all employees deemed essential must remain at or report to their work as soon as conditions reasonably permit. The designation of essential depends on an employee’s duties as well as the circumstances for suspension of normal operations.
Reports to:
Manager of Property and Warehouse Services
Terms of Employment:
Twelve months a year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations for non-licensed personnel.
