HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL - INSTRUCTION
Primary Function
Assume responsibility for all elements in the instructional program of the high and middle school complex (Grades 6-12).
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a postgraduate professional license in school administration and shall have completed those courses at the graduate level that are pertinent to the assignment.

Have prior school administration experience.

Have demonstrated professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel, students, parents, and members of the community.

Sufficient mobility to perform hall and school ground monitoring activities.

Possess high moral standards and integrity.
Performance Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the High School Principal - Operations.

Provide effective leadership for the instructional program.
-
Provide effective management for all aspects of the instructional program.

Monitor and assess student progress.
-
Ensure appropriate student conduct consistent with school standards and division policies.

Provide staff leadership, development, and training.
-
Supervise and evaluate staff.
-
Resolve conflicts and manage crises regarding instructional issues.

Exhibit effective human relations and communication skills.
-
Develop positive school-community relations.
-
Interpret the schools’ program to parents and the community.

Jointly develop and implement with High School Principal - Operations an annual operating plan for the school which includes contributions by the staff, parents, students, and community members.

Develop and meet personal and professional goals from an established list of possible target areas.

Develop and meet goals based on annual superintendent initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Type:
Non-Exempt
Reports to: Chief Academic Officer (CAO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Terms of Employment:
Twelve months a year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of licensed personnel.
