ADULT BASIC EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR
Primary Function
To provide for the planning and delivery of adult instruction
Minimum Qualifications
- Holds a bachelors degree
- Have experience in Adult Basic Education and GED instruction
- Demonstrates the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working with adult learners, other school personnel and the community
- Possesses strong organizational and management skills
- Possesses high moral standards and integrity
- Possesses sufficient strength, agility, dexterity and mobility to carry out all performance responsibilities
Performance Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare classroom instruction of Adult Basic Education
- Comply with class schedule as determined by the program
- Select appropriate instructional goals
- Assist in the development and field testing of new methods and materials that will improve our instructional program.
- Attend all pre-service and in-service activities
- Develop an individual study plan with each student based on assessment test data, as well as student interest and goals
- Submit attendance reports monthly
- Maintain accurate records and reports necessary for state mandated performance indicators for recruitment, retention, educational goals, staff development, program planning, support services and curriculum and instruction
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet varied student needs
- Monitor and assess student progress in order to make instructional decisions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Adult Education
Position Type:
Non-Exempt
Reports to: Coordinator of Adult Education
Terms of Employment:
Part time, 10 months a year. Schedule determined by individual students' assignments and schedules. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on the evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
