Title:   WAREHOUSE TECHNICIAN

Position Type: Non-Exempt

Primary Function:

The position is responsible for the accurate accounting of inventory including receiving, processing, recording and distributing supplies and materials; performs a variety of clerical duties including data entry and maintenance of files and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a combination of either additional education or experience in the area of warehouse practices and procedures. General knowledge of office procedures, practices and equipment to include computers. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, vendors and the general public. Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain records. Ability to move, load, and unload equipment and supplies weighing 60 pounds and participate with manual or mechanical assistance in unloading of significantly heavier equipment and supplies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have knowledge of warehouse operations and experience and/or knowledge helpful with coordinating warehouse personnel as needed.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Maintain daily, annual and periodic inventories and perform stock control activities; for food, textbooks, and miscellaneous property.
  • Maintain controlled and prompt receiving, filling, distribution, and shipping of orders,
  • Assist in generating, processing, and execution of purchase orders, request orders, stock maintenance, logistics and other services.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as generating reports and maintaining files, computer ledgers, etc.
  • Maintain safe working environment; follow regulations, procedures and routines under established policy.
  • Aid staff in loading/unloading and storing supplies and equipment.
  • Inspects goods for compliance with specifications.
  • Answer routine telephone calls and provides relevant information; intake and process requests.
  • Resolve discrepancies and expedite orders with vendors.
  • Coordinate activities of warehouse personnel.
  • Coach and train warehouse personnel as required.
  • Plan and direct the warehousing/disposal program for surplus furniture, equipment and supplies.
  • Direct the provision of furniture, equipment and supplies to new and existing facilities of the division.
  • Oversee and maintain contracts for uniforms, clinic linens, dust mops, microscopes, balances, sewing machines and safety shoes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Transportation and Warehouse Operations and/or Associate Director of Maintenance and Facilities Support.
Reports to:
Associate Director of Transportation and Warehouse Operations
Terms of Employment:
Twelve months per year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
