Title: EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM/DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM LIAISON

Primary Function:
To support the success of the Early College/Dual Enrollment Program Students
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years’ experience in secondary school counseling
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with school administrators, parents, and students.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
- Possess high moral standards and integrity
- Demonstrate a willingness to work with all students
- Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain records
- Ability to prepare required written reports.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintain essential communication between program students and Virginia Peninsula Community College and the York County School Division
- Communicate with School Senior Class Advisors and School Counselors
- Support students by addressing their academic, career and personal/social needs
- Work with students on an individual or group basis to resolve student-identified areas of concern
- Consult with teachers, parents and other stakeholders on issues related to student academic success
- Maintain student records, as assigned
- Protect student confidentiality
- Handle issues which are highly sensitive and/or related to student safety in accordance with the American School Counselor Association's Ethical Standards for School Counselors and School Board Policy
- Interpret educational information (ability and aptitude measures, standardized test scores, and other pertinent data) to students, parents, other school division personnel
- Make appropriate referrals to other school division personnel or community agencies
- Inform parents and/or appropriate authorities when a student's condition indicates a clear and imminent danger to himself or others in accordance with the American School Counselor Association's Ethical Standards for School Counselors
Reports to:
Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Coordinator of Online Learning
Terms of Employment:
As needed position, at a rate of $28.75 per hour, 10 months a year. Assigned to school/s location/s as needed.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of licensed personnel.
