Title:   COMMUNICATIONS LIAISON

Position Type: Supplement

Primary Function:

Position is a year-long principal appointed role responsible for gathering, producing and posting content for the school website and school social media accounts in collaboration with the building administrators and Communications and Engagement Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed or exempt staff are recommended for this role whenever possible. Schools may elect to have more than one liaison, with the duties and stipend amount split accordingly.
  • Building administrators will assist the Communications and Engagement Department with performance evaluations. Stipends may be reduced or withheld if performance responsibilities are not met.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Meet or communicate regularly with school administrators, school staff, the school newsletter editor, PTA board, and student leadership to identify and review feature stories, awards, student and staff accomplishments, upcoming events, etc.
  • Gather, produce and distribute text, photo and video content with staff and student support, for the school’s social media account(s) and website, as well as district platforms.
  • Meet social media and website content posting expectations provided annually by the Communications and Engagement Department.
  • Help promote division level campaigns, events and messages.
  • Ensure ADA and translation compliance for social media posts and website content.
  • Reinforce school expectations and procedures including School Board communication policies.
  • Participate in scheduled training and meetings with the Communications and Engagement Department.
  • Lead communication training and share communication tips with school staff as needed throughout the year.
  • Gather key metrics and data monthly from various social media platforms including followers, posts, engagement, and reach. Regularly update spreadsheets with collected social media statistics.

Terms of Employment:
Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on the evaluation of licensed or nonlicensed personnel depending on primary position of appointee.
