Title: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR - MIDDLE SCHOOL

Primary Function:
Administration of all middle school athletic programs, including liaison between the athletic staff and the administration; provides leadership and serves as a model to the athletic staff; assists the administration in the development and maintenance of a wholesome and balanced athletic program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior successful coaching experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of athletic programs and total operations of an athletic program.
- Skill in budgeting and purchasing.
- Ability to exhibit sufficient strength, agility, dexterity, and mobility to carry out all performance responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Schedules and coordinates athletic practices and events including but not limited to: operational personnel, facilities, transportation, officials, promotions, and equipment.
- Provides supervision and crowd control for home and away (as requested) athletic events as appropriate.
- Provides orientation of athletic staff regarding policies and procedures governing the athletic program including district regulations.
- Assists in recommending potential athletic staff members, and terminations.
- Maintains complete records on the athletic program including eligibility lists, insurance lists, equipment inventories, awards, rosters, finances, physicals, event records, etc.
- Acts as liaison between principal and coaching staff.
- Serves as liaison between coaches and parents.
- Attends district athletic meetings as appropriate.
- Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
- Completes all student-athlete safety training requirements and works collaboratively with the Athletic Trainer.
- Performs seasonal evaluations on all contracted coaches.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
