Job Description

Title:   SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST INTERN

Position Type: Non-Exempt

Primary Function:

Performs a variety of functions under supervision of a licensed psychologist including but not limited to: assessment, consultation, counseling, CBM, attend RTI meetings and eligibility meetings, conduct functional behavioral assessments and assist in creating behavior intervention plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have completed all prerequisite courses in an approved school psychology program and be eligible to begin 1200 hour internship.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Test students for a variety of reasons and be able to write a clear, concise psychological report integrating test results.
  • Use testing software and other computer programs (i.e. BASC2 Assist).
  • Explain test findings to parents, teachers and administrators and offer recommendations for remediation if necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of reports, records, correspondence and communication.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people of all ages.
  • Utilize the Problem Solving Model and assist in creating interventions for underachieving students.
  • Exhibit flexibility to change schedule quickly if needed for an emergency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to:
Director of Accountability and Instructional Services
Terms of Employment:
Ten months a year. Salary determined according to the YCSD Pay Plan.
