Title: LEAD COPY SHOP OPERATOR

Primary Function:
Operates office machines such as high speed business photocopiers and other reprographics equipment to produce high-volumes of copies from submitted job requests. Performs bindery and finishing duties and assists with other duties as relevant to Copy Shop operations. Manages the Copy Shop budget and ensures supplies are ordered in sufficient quantities and timeliness to meet customer requirements. Performs varied administrative tasks including but not limited to gathering statistical information concerning requests, usage, and financial data for the Copy Shop.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and experience and knowledge in the operation of high speed business photocopiers, and reprographics equipment, as well as drill presses, folding machines, floor model paper cutters, spiral binding machines and other related bindery equipment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which would provide the acceptable knowledge, abilities and skills needed in a copy shop environment as evidenced in the following performance responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of supervisory and management techniques of a copy shop.
- Working knowledge copy shop procedures and equipment.
- Knowledge of high-volume paper handling techniques including proper storage.
- Knowledge of running and gluing NCR paper/forms.
- Ability to determine most cost effective and efficient method of reproduction.
- Experience using third-party web sites for on-line ordering.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach when working with high speed business photocopiers, reprographics equipment and other equipment and to lift sixty (60) pounds unassisted.
- Visual acuity and perception required for working with high speed business photocopiers, reprographics equipment and other equipment including but not limited to paper cutters.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and well organized.
- Ability to learn new software applications necessary to operate a high-volume copy shop.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to gather and analyze data to formulate conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors and customers.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Supervises the operation of high speed business photocopiers, and reprographics equipment and other equipment including, folders, paper cutters, drill presses and all binding related equipment.
- Reviews job request forms and attachments for accuracy, distributes jobs to other Copy Shop staff for copying, assemble and lays out jobs for copying as needed.
- Generates price quotes for non-instructional job requests, assists in the billing process for peripheral copy job orders.
- Initiates maintenance calls for service on any Copy Shop equipment and represents the division with vendor repair technicians on the repair of equipment when needed.
- Organizes, supervises and assists in the normal operation of the Copy Shop including overseeing other Copy Shop staff.
- Produces weekly/monthly/annual reports of various statistical information representative of Copy Shop production as directed by management.
- Maintains the Copy Shop budget and financial requirements for the Copy Shop operations.
- Anticipates Copy Shop supply needs to ensure Copy Shop can meet customer requirements; order and maintain the paper and other supply inventory.
- Submits invoices to ensure timely payment of Copy Shop vendors.
- Trains other Copy Shop personnel.
- Ensures quality control for all Copy Shop requests.
- Provides recommendations for the selection and acquisition of new Copy Shop equipment including but not limited to high speed business photocopiers, and reprographics equipment and other equipment as well as folders, paper cutters, drill presses and all binding related equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to:
Information Technology Project Manager
Terms of Employment:
Twelve months a year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed employees.
