Title:   COORDINATOR OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Position Type: Exempt

Primary Function:

The role of the Coordinator of Educational Technology (CET) is to lead and support the integration of technology resources into traditional, blended, and remote K-12 classrooms and facilitate the seamless use of technology by staff and students across these environments. The CET provides direction for technology innovation efforts across YCSD and supports the virtual learning programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Professional License in School Administration and completion of those courses at the graduate level that are pertinent to the assignment
  • Three years of experience as a teacher and/or administrator
  • Experience in technology use and developing technology-based solutions in educational settings
  • Abilities and skills, as evidenced in the following performance responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to remain abreast of current educational research, instructional strategies and trends in emerging technologies to include virtual and blended learning, information technology, internet safety and the appropriate use of social media for instruction and professional development
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of learning management systems and video conferencing
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with YCSD staff, students, parents, business partners, and community members
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and prepare required written reports including clear and concise reporting
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Promotes effective integration of technology resources in grades K-12
  • Leads and supports YCSD instructional innovation coaches  
  • Leads and supports YCSD library media specialists
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of virtual learning programs to include Summer Academy
  • Monitors progress for virtual students and communicates with all relevant stakeholders
  • Communicates virtual learning information to all relevant stakeholders
  • Supervision and evaluation of staff
  • Coordinates division-wide technology committees, as needed
  • Functions as a coordinator of educational technology resources; coordinates the selection of instructional software, hardware, and other resources.
  • Plans and facilitates workshops and other professional development programs designed to optimize effective technology integration in the classroom; communicates these opportunities using multiple means
  • Engages in research related to educational technology and specific instructional web-based programs; analyzes data to make informed instructional decisions
  • Manages implementation of current YCSD software applications and the approval process for proposed applications
  • Leads the development of curriculum projects, such as internet safety and computer technology standards
  • Collaborates with Student Services staff to identify and communicate assistive technology resources
  • Coordinates and manages specific academic, co-curricular, and grant-related programs
  • Engages in professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging technologies in a rapidly changing society; communicates all relevant information to stakeholders
  • Gathers and submits data for state reports related to educational technology and remote learning
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Reports to:
Associate Director of Educational Technology and Innovation
Terms of Employment:
Twelve months a year. Salary according to School Board Pay Plan.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of administrative personnel.
