The purpose of Virginia Farm Bureau Women’s Program is to promote agriculture and educate our communities on the importance of the agriculture industry. We work with VA Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC), a nonprofit affiliate of Virginia Farm Bureau that promotes the understanding of agriculture through education. AITC works with local county Farm Bureaus and other volunteer organizations to promote the donation of Learning Barns to schools. The Learning Barn is a book case built to look like a barn and stocked with 25-30 agriculture-related books. During the presentation Dr. Williams read “Down on the Farm: Pigs” by Hannah Roy to Ms. Gallagher’s second grade class. |
