Yorktown Elementary Patriotism

Posted On: Thursday, October 11, 2012
First graders at Yorktown Elementary Math Science Technology Magnet School have been engaged in learning about the patriotic symbols of the United States. Each student decorated the American flag, designed a foldable Washington Monument, dressed in the crown and carried the torch of the Statue of Liberty, made and displayed the American Bald Eagle and the Liberty Bell. Students in Mrs. Cagle’s first grade class enjoyed bringing this social studies SOL to life by proudly displaying some of their favorite symbols of the United States.
