Tabb Middle School (TMS) students in grades 6-8 participated in the Peninsula Chapter Math Counts competition on February 11 at NASA against eight other teams. TMS's Math Counts team of four won first place. All the students participated in the individual competition. Tabb Middle's Alex Zhou, an 8th grader came in 2nd overall. Five of our individual competitors ranked in the top 14, out of approximately 70 competitors.

 

The team will now move on to the State competition, to be held in Richmond on March 17. The team is thankful to Dr. Gon Namkoong (parent and ODU professor) and Andrew Luo, (10th grader from York High School) for their support and dedication to coaching the students throughout the year.
