Tabb Middle School (TMS) students participated in their annual “Hoops for Heart” event in April, where students raised money for the American Heart Association and participated in selected events during their PE class. The students were able to choose from a 5 on 5 basketball tournament, knockout tournament or jump rope activity. The culminating event was the grade level championship games for the 5 on 5 tournaments. The top two teams in each grade level played their championship game in front of an assembly of their classmates during field day on the last day of school. Each student on the winning team from each grade level was awarded a “Hoops for Heart” Champion tee shirt provided by the school. TMS has been participating in “Hoops for Heart” since 1997 and has raised $52,580 since that time.
