Tabb Cadets Honor Guard for USS Constitution at Governor McDonnell's Address

Posted On: Thursday, February 03, 2011
On Tuesday afternoon, January 25th, in the middle of semester exams six Tabb High School (YHS) NJROTC cadets took a break from their studies to be the Honor Guard along with the crew of the USS Constitution for Virginia Governor McDonnell in his address to members of the House of Delegates, Naval and Coast Guard Admirals and distinguished guests, about the importance of OpSail 2012.

Since the very first OpSail in 1964, the parade of sail has displayed the majesty and beauty of international tall ships such as Russia's Krusenstern. For 2012, in celebration of the "Star-Spangled Banner," the parade will be called The Star-Spangled Sail. This will be the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the writing of our National Anthem.
