Tabb High Bowlers Bring Home the Trophy

Posted On: Friday, January 28, 2011
Congratulations to the Tabb High School (THS) Bowling Club. The THS Bowling Club members successfully brought home to Hampton Roads the Clyde Robert Perkins II Memorial State High School Bowling Overall District trophy from the Virginia High School State Bowling Championships held on January 9th in Richmond. Two of THS’s teams placed in the top ten statewide. The top team was an "all-star team" consisting of members from York County high schools with THS’s Alec Manriquez on that team. On the second team in the top ten was Chris Kephart, Katie Kephart, and Katerina Check; they came in seventh place just 31 pins (only a little over 1.5 pins per game) away from earning a trophy. Other Tabb bowlers who advanced through districts to the state tournament were: Ross Beardsley, Jason Nunez, Alex Smith, Marissa Spencer, Hunter Sylvester, Austin VanHoesen, Robert White, and Victoria White.
