Posted On: Thursday, December 09, 2010
Yorktown Elementary School (YES) second grade students explored Native American history by studying culture, dwellings, storytelling and food. Each student created a project and presented it to students and parents. Students wore vests and head dresses as part of the celebration and cooked traditional Potach stew. Teacher Lydia Lassalle had a teepee in her classroom to replicate a traditional Native American dwelling.
