Parent Review of Proposed YCSD Community Service Recognition Program

Goal 4 of the York County School Division Strategic Plan includes development of a Citizenship/Community Service Objective that is designed to increase student involvement in citizenship and community service activities that are completed by students prior to graduation. A proposal has been created and is designed to recognize students who complete at least 200 hours of community service during their 9th through 12th grade years. The proposed recognition includes graduates receiving a community service diploma seal and an opportunity to purchase a cord to wear at graduation. The proposal will be made available for review on Monday, November 22nd, in Conference Room C at the School Board Office (302 Dare Road, Yorktown) from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
