Seaford Elementary Honored for Excellence

We're so excited to finally be able to share a special recognition for Seaford Elementary School. This morning, the Virginia Board of Education officially recognized SES as one of seven Virginia schools eligible for the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School award in 2025. SES was recognized as an Exemplary High Performing School, but also met the criteria in the Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing category (only one other Virginia school qualified in both categories).

We are so proud of our students, staff and families whose hard work and dedication led to this honor and want to give a special shout out to our state leaders for recognizing their achievement after the USDOE eliminated the program this fall.
