The Governor’s School for Science & Technology (GOV School) held its annual Awards & Recognition Ceremony at the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton in May. The GOV School is a regional education center for 11th and 12th grade students interested in advanced classes in science and mathematics. As part of this specialized program, students have two years of research course work, prepare science fair projects and engage in mentorship experiences with local professionals including NASA, Jefferson Labs, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, the College of William & Mary, Sentara Careplex and many others. Grafton High School:
Maydeli Figueroa - $2,000 New Horizons Regional Education Foundation Scholarship
Nicholas Grigorian - Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology
Tabb High School:
Yvonne Mack - $2,000 Old Point National Bank Scholarship
Vinh Nguyen - Engineer’s Club Outstanding Student Award
Christopher Kegelman - Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award
Brian Whitlow - Rochester Institute of Technology Computing Medal

York High School:
