Tabb Elementary Kids Heart Challenge

Posted On: Wednesday, April 19, 2023

Tabb Elementary School has been participating in a nationwide fundraiser for the American Heart Association since the year 2003. Tabb's participation in Kids Heart Challenge, formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart, was initiated by Bette Seymore, Physical Education teacher who retired from TES in 2012. Her tradition has been carried on by the current Physical Education Teacher, Ginny Sinclair. The 2022-23 school year marks Tabb Elementary's 21st year participating in the fundraiser, which focuses on teaching students about how to keep their healthy hearts healthy, and how they can help others whose hearts aren't as healthy as theirs.

This was a record-breaking year for Tabb Elementary School. Students raised $28,303.49 and in doing so, ranked 3rd in the state of Virginia for the most money donated through the Kids Heart Challenge. This brings the school's 21 year total to over $290,000.
