Students Explore Life at the Border

Posted On: Friday, May 07, 2010
Students at Yorktown Middle School (YMS) participated in a border exploration workshop delivered by students from the College of William and Mary. Conducted in Nancy Feigenbaum's Spanish I class, students engaged in decision-making scenarios of border life on the Mexico/United States border. The lesson was created in response to field studies of the border conducted by William and Mary students under the direction of Professor Jennifer Bickham Mendez. The experience enabled YMS students to increase their international awareness, enhance their English and Spanish vocabulary skills, and learn more about post-secondary educational opportunities.
