Michael Martinez's World History classes took a trip to the Renaissance Museum without leaving the building. Students exited the classroom, took a short imaginary bus ride and were greeted by the museum curator (Mr. Martinez) as they returned to the room. Each student was provided with museum directory and instructed to browse the exhibits and take notes on each renaissance artist's bust. Earlier in the week, teams of students in each class were given a bust (paper facsimile) of one of the notable artists of the Renaissance period. They researched the artist, recorded the information at the base of the bust and colored the bust to represent their interpretation of the artist's appearance. The museum activity was designed to help students identify renaissance artists and to be able to explain their contributions to renaissance art.
