Tabb High School Students Win the 2022 National KidWind Challenge

Posted On: Wednesday, August 24, 2022

Members of Tabb High School’s Gone with the Wind team shared their experience earning the title of National Champions in this year’s KidWind Challenge during Monday night’s School Board meeting. The team, several of whom have competed together since fifth grade, faced 60 teams from across the country during the American Clean Power (ACP) 2022 Conference in San Antonio. This competition was the culminating event for the KidWind Challenge season, which consisted of local, regional and state challenges. Over the course of the three-day national event, Tabb High School’s highly skilled students were tested on their knowledge of renewable energy, their design and problem-solving skills, and their wind turbines’ energy output by a team of 30 educators and industry professionals.

The team intends to compete again this year and hopefully inspire more YCSD students to join the challenge. We are so proud of these students for demonstrating what it means to be a Future Ready Graduate!
