Graduation Venue Change

This past weekend, Governor Northam announced that the state would ease all distancing and capacity restrictions on Friday, May 28. As the division’s graduation plans were developed prior to this announcement, we reconvened the committee of students, parents, staff, and school and division administrators to reevaluate the criteria used to select our commencement venue.

We are pleased to share that the BHS, GHS, THS and YHS Classes of 2021 will celebrate graduation in York County at Bailey Field. Additionally, the new guidance now permits each graduate to receive 10 guest tickets for their ceremony. Dates and times announced in April for all ceremonies will remain the same, and all ceremonies will be live streamed on the division’s YouTube Channel.

YCSD would like to thank Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway for the generous offer to host these ceremonies, free of charge, when restrictions had kept Bailey Field from being a feasible venue.

School Events

The division continues to revise practices and procedures to align with changes in state and federal guidance. School administrators and division staff have also reviewed the revised state guidance regarding parent attendance at elementary school end of year events. Schools will provide updates to their families in the coming days.
