2019 Virginia Index of Performance (VIP) Awards

The 2019 Virginia Index of Performance (VIP) awards have been released. We are proud to report that YCSD ranked prominently on the list, which recognizes schools and divisions based on student achievement and other performance indicators from the 2017-18 school year data.

Mt. Vernon Elementary School was one of 90 schools in the entire state to earn the Board of Education Excellence Award for meeting all state and federal accountability benchmarks and making significant progress toward goals for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunities set by the board. Nine schools, and the division, earned the Distinguished Achievement Award for meeting all state and federal benchmarks and making progress toward the goals of the governor and the board.
