This year, in addition to reading poetry, the school added a poetry contest. While a few students elected to read poetry selections from library books, the majority chose to read their original poems. Students enthusiastically read their works and beamed with pride seeing staff and peers' reactions to their original creations. Eliya Friedler (7th grade), won first place in the contest with her poem entitled “From Holocaust to Revival”. Carly McMinn (6th grade) won second place with her poem entitled “In My Mind”, and Preston James (6th grade) won third place with his poem entitled “The River of Life”.
