Virginia Index of Performance (VIP) Awards

Posted On: Thursday, June 28, 2018

The 2018 Virginia Index of Performance (VIP) awards have been released. We are proud to report that YCSD ranked prominently on the list, which recognizes schools and divisions based on student achievement and other performance indicators from the 2016-17 school year data.

Seven schools, and the division, earned the Distinguished Achievement Award for meeting all state and federal benchmarks and making progress toward the goals of the governor and the board. Three schools reached an even higher level, the Board of Education Excellence Award, for making significant progress towards the goals. This is also the 11th straight year that both Coventry and Mt. Vernon elementary schools have been honored by the state through this program!

Please join us in congratulating these schools:

Board of Education Excellence Award
Mt. Vernon Elementary School
Tabb Elementary School
Waller Mill Elementary School

Board of Education Distinguished Achievement Award
Bethel Manor Elementary School
Coventry Elementary School
Seaford Elementary School
Tabb Middle School
Grafton High School
Tabb High School
York High School

YCSD was also one of only 15 school systems in the state to earn the award as a division.
