READBoxes at Tabb Middle School

Posted On: Friday, March 24, 2017
READBoxes at Tabb Middle SchoolLibrary Media Specialist Nanci Diggs has brought READboxes to Tabb Middle School (TMS). A READbox is a crate of books specifically selected for a particular unit of study. The crate contains a mixture of nonfiction, fiction, graphic novels, novels in prose, and poetry. TMS teachers make a READbox request based on a unit of study and the crate remains in the classroom for the duration of the unit. The books are utilized for research in the classroom and provide silent reading material for students who want to learn more about lesson topics. Students can check out the book to take home. This is a reading across the curriculum tool that makes it easy to expand classroom lessons for curious students.
