Bethel Manor Elementary Celebrates Reading and WritingTo celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day, Courtney Brightbill's second grade class at Bethel Manor Elementary School (BMES) made hats like the Cat in the Hat! Then, the students read Dr. Seuss books with buddies in the classroom. The students also started a new unit on persuasive writing. To help students prepare for this unit, students brought in collections of toys and other items from home. They set up the collections for viewing and selected their favorite. The students used this activity to learn how to share an opinion and provide supporting reasons in their writing lessons.
