Odyssey of the Mind Champions

YCSD Odyssey of the MindThree York County School Division teams are headed to the state Odyssey of the Mind Tournament based on their impressive work at the regional competition this past weekend. In the Its Time Omer problem, the Yorktown Middle School team took first place in its division, while the Tabb High team took second place in its division and Queens Lake Middle School won the Odd-A-Bot problem in its division. All three teams advance to the state competition on April 1. Several other YCSD teams also earned honors at the regional competition:

First Place:

  • Queens Lake Middle School - Odd-a-Bot Div. II
  • Yorktown Middle School - It’s Time, Omer Div. II

Second Place:

  • Tabb High School - It’s Time, Omer Div. III
  • Mt. Vernon Elementary School - To Be Continued: A Superhero Cliffhanger Div. IB
  • Yorktown Elementary School - To Be Continued: A Superhero Cliffhanger Div. IB
  • Yorktown Middle School - To Be Continued: A Superhero Cliffhanger Div. II

Third Place:

  • Grafton Middle School - Catch Us If You Can Div. II
  • Magruder Elementary School - To Be Continued: A Superhero Cliffhanger Div. IA

Fourth Place:

  • Grafton High School - It’s Time, Omer Div. III

Sixth Place:

  • Waller Mill Elementary School - To Be Continued: A Superhero Cliffhanger Div. IA

Grafton Middle School also received a Ranatra Fusca award for creativity.
