York High School Earns Environmental Action Award

Posted On: Friday, February 03, 2017
York High School Earns Environmental Action AwardAskGreen.org has selected York High School (YHS) as a recipient of its annual Environmental Action Award for the school’s water bottle filling stations. The stations give students the option of refilling water bottles throughout the school day without using a sink or water fountain, which can be messy and unsanitary. AskHRgreen.org selected the project because of its focus on the quality, safety and affordability of tap water; the importance of reusing and reducing plastic in the waste stream; and the legacy created by the project to serve as a reminder for students for years to come. The school will receive a plaque and $100 award at a ceremony later this month.
