Students enrolled in the Governor’s School of Health Science at Bruton High School (BHS) took their learning on the road to help educate students at Waller Mill Elementary School. The BHS students selected health-related topics, such as home safety, dental hygiene, germ control and first aid. Each student reviewed teaching strategies and elementary SOL’s, and then devised lesson plans to deliver. The Bruton students not only discovered how rewarding and complex teaching can be, but truly enjoyed interacting with the elementary students.
