Seaford Monarchs in First Grade

Posted On: Friday, October 14, 2016
First graders at Seaford Elementary School spent the first quarter learning about Monarch butterflies. Sabrina Phan’s class had hands-on experience with the life cycle of the butterflies, as they got to watch eggs hatch and the caterpillars grow and become beautiful Monarchs. The children even helped tag and feed more than 20 Monarchs. The students loved watching the daily changes in the classroom. The love of Monarchs has transferred over into daily student writing, reading, and some have even found their own caterpillars to watch go through the life cycle. They have become lifelong Monarch lovers!
