Grafton Middle School Hometown Hero

Posted On: Friday, September 23, 2016

York-Poquoson Sheriff Danny Diggs surprised a Grafton Middle School (GMS) student at school this week to present him with the department’s Hometown Hero award. Nate Lambright, a sixth grade student, caught the sheriff’s attention when he learned that Nate, who has cerebral palsy, recently participated in a triathlon and placed third in his category.

While presenting him with his certificate and award, the sheriff told Nate that he was being honored for his commitment and perseverance. “It should be a message to everyone that if you try hard enough and have the right attitude you can do anything,” said Sheriff Diggs.
