All 19 Schools Fully Accredited

Posted On: Friday, September 16, 2016

The York County School Division has achieved 100% accreditation for the 2016-17 school year from the Virginia Department of Education. Schools’ accreditation ratings reflect overall SOL passing rates from the previous school year in the four core academic areas of English, math, history and science. Of the 132 school divisions in the state, only 53 have all schools fully accredited this year.

"Our students’ success is a result of multiple factors which include their hard work and dedication as well as the commitment of each individual involved in educating and supporting our students – teachers, administrators, support staff, parents and our community. Additionally, our School Board ensures that allocating resources to support student success is our top priority so that staff and students can focus on instruction and learning," shared Dr. Shandor, division superintendent.
