Administrative Appointment

The York County School Division is pleased to announce that Dr. Karen Cagle has been approved by the School Board to serve as the division’s associate director for K-12 academic services starting July 1. The associate director for K-12 academic services provides leadership for division testing, gifted, limited English proficiency, and educational technology programs as well as professional development programs for all licensed employees.

Dr. Cagle has been an educator for nearly 20 years, with eight years of administrative experience within the York County School Division. She served as an assistant principal at Yorktown Middle School and principal of Grafton Middle School for the last four years. A graduate of Francis Marion University, she earned her master’s degree from Walden University and her doctorate from the College of William & Mary.

The division has launched a search for her replacement which includes gathering feedback through stakeholder surveys and focus groups comprised of faculty, staff and parents.
