YMS and MVES Battle of the Books

Yorktown Middle School (YMS) and Mt. Vernon Elementary School (MVES) represented the York Library at the regional Battle of the Books competition held at the Williamsburg Regional Library on March 19. Students competed against teams from Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg.

MVES brought home the championship trophy for grades 4-5 division for the second consecutive year. YMS advanced to the final round as well, finishing with seconds place in the grades 6-8 division.
